Face 4 Cancer is a project dear to me as a Stage IV colon cancer fighter- the message is that any face you see could be affected by cancer; whether directly by the disease itself or by knowing someone with the disease. My hope is to see the recommended screening age lowered and insurance assist all in making screening options possible and affordable. Each year colon cancer is the second cause for cancer related deaths with younger ages in larger numbers being reported. There are so many stories and journeys....
Started on a grass roots community level Face 4 Cancer is a non profit organization dedicated to colon cancer advocacy- Participation with the National Colon Cancer Alliance as well as the National C3 organizations have been invaluable in educating me to navigate health care and government at a National/Congressional Level. In addition, I have become aligned with a project in Dallas near to my heart at the Mary Crowley Cancer Resarch Center at Medical City in Dallas, Texas. The Benevolence Program there is designed to assist patients with financial challenges of cancer treatment or needs; a way I can try to give back some of the blessings my own cancer journey has allowed me.
